The WestRock Portland Corrugated Container Plant has immediate openings for entry-level Production Workers. The plant operates 24 hours/day, 5-7 days/week as needed to meet production.

3rd shift: M-F 11pm - 7am

This entry-level position consists of the following duties that are essential to the operation of a corrugated box plant. A Production Worker is normally the third team member assigned to a machine in the Production Department. Some of the duties of this position include, but are not limited to: ensuring that all tooling for the machine is on hand, assisting the machine operator and assistant operator with setups and jam-ups, ensuring that the area surrounding the machine is kept clean of debris and spills, and being available to relieve team members when they go out on lunch or breaks. This position requires constant standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and crouching.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts - daily overtime, weekend work, rotating schedules. Average 50-55 hours per week.

Must meet physical requirements:

Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver 50 pounds on a routine basis

Able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb steps, and twist throughout a shift

Ability to read a tape measure and apply basic math and computer skills

Pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical

Ideal Applicant:

Works in a safe manner. Complies with all safety rules.

Experienced working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (corrugated industry a plus, but not required).

Schedule

Shift start: 7:00AM or 3:00PM or 11:00PM Shift length: 8 - 12 hours This is a union shop so there is no shift preference at first. Must be available to work all shifts. Frequent overtime and weekend work required with little notice. 50-55 hours per week.
