Akkodis is searching for a Project Managers (PM) II in Marine Fabrication to be responsible for managing all phases of projects from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring & controlling, and closure. Project Managers report to the Program Manager for the Market Segment their projects are operating under.

Pay Range: $90K - $112K - 15 ICU's (each ICU valued up to $1k)

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full Time Employment

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am - 5pm

Location: Onsite - Vancouver, WA

Relocation can be offered qualified candidates willing to relocate to Vancouver, WA for this position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Key requirements and duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for managing all phases of projects from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring & controlling, and closure.
  • PM provides oversight of routine and advanced technical work performed for their projects and ensures that quality standards for all deliverables are achieved within established schedules, budgets, and scope definitions.
  • PM is responsible for development of subcontracts, including technical, schedule, and financial performance of these subcontractors.
  • PM responsibilities include monitoring and controlling project performance and making course corrections where necessary to meet project schedule, cost, quality, safety and corporate goals. PM is responsible for all project performance reporting.
  • PM is responsible for project close-out, including ensuring conclusion of all supplier purchase orders and final invoices on behalf of the company are complete.
  • Typically manages projects at the $5 million to $25 million.
  • This position will assist the Program Manager in the development and supporting of a world class team to support the program, planning, budgeting, scheduling, strategic supplier decisions, integrated logistics support, contract management, and P&L responsibilities. Leadership responsibilities extend to other members of the program team, supporting company team members, third-party contractors, and consultants.
  • Project Managers are responsible for managing all phases of projects from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring & controlling, and closure.
  • Responsible for planning and facilitating all aspects of communication between different stakeholders within the company.
  • JOB SCOPE: The role operates within general parameters but must use sound judgment and independent decision making when carrying out job responsibilities. Has the ability to influence and recommend modifying existing protocols. The candidate is held accountable for the overall guidance and consistency across projects to ensure profitable performance of the work is achieved. The candidate has profit and loss responsibility for his/her projects as well as, a critical role in securing revenue for the Company. Failure to meet the expectations of the customer could result in significant loss of future business.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: The position directly manages as many as 3 to 6 employees, with up to 50 through subordinates.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Able to fulfill the responsibilities of the role with little oversight or guidance.
  • Understands the fundamentals behind the methods/procedures, able to make decisions that are in line with these principles on their own.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience in a fabrication environment, preferably job-shop or general contract companies.
  • Strong fabrication background/builder-mentality
  • Strong technical skills/aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills for use across the spectrum from craftsmen to customers and government regulators.
  • Regular interaction with shop production is expected
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management.
  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    : Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in steel fabrication or similar industries is required. Minimum requirement of 5 years' experience in a Project Manager role.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting. The person may be required to be in production areas at times. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
