As the Senior Database Administrator (Oracle), you will provide architectural leadership focusing on data and database administration, including designing database schema and data integration. You'll also be responsible for meeting project schedules and ensuring required database up-time performance. This role drives proficiency within teams, provides resolution to technical issues, assures best practices are followed, and assists management in meeting strategic initiatives while contributing to smooth business operations.

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Manages deployment of new databases, new schemas and new database objects and on-going maintenance of the same
  • Contributes to defining application database standards, in creating application data models
  • Manages database performance in context of applications, working with infrastructure and application teams.
  • Acts as a liaison between project management, technical teams, and IT leadership; assures best practices are defined and followed; drives consistency across applications and projects wherever possible.
  • Assists application developers SQL tuning.
  • Mentor developers and helps resolve technical roadblocks; recognizes organizational/team challenges and address them with management.
  • Contributes to evaluation, selection, and implementation of new tools
  • Develops PL/SQL Programs to build automation tools.
What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of database administration experience with Oracle Server
  • Data modeling skill required. Use of Erwin tool is good to have.
  • Expertise in Oracle technologies
  • Exadata experience
  • Strong Linux, shell scripting required.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, Oracle partitioning and knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Oracle GoldenGate
It'd be great if you also have:
  • Deep knowledge/experience in the following: SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle DBA tasks.
  • Data modeling skill required. Use of Erwin tool is good to have.
  • Keeps current with emerging trends and database technologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications and maintain thorough knowledge of internal company software applications applicable to position/business unit.
  • Oracle Advance Queues knowledge (desirable)
  • Programming experience with Python, Java (desirable).
  • GitHub, Confluence (desirable)
