Title: Sr Software Development Manager Permanent Role w/benefits and bonus Location: Remote (TX, AZ, NV, OR, WA preferred) Summary:

  • This position will manage a team of remote developers, remote contractors and global developers.
  • Leads a team of developers focused on digital customer solutions such as web, eCommerce, customer integrations, and mobile solutions.
  • Helps develop and drive overall eCommerce architecture and technical strategy.
  • Provides technical oversight and serves as a mentor to the team. Ensuring designs and solutions align to our standards and implemented according to best practices.
  • Lead design and development of enhancements and new services across the digital customer solutions.
  • Develop and implement SDLC processes and standards (code reviews, coding standards, CI/CD)
  • Evaluates development requests to assess their validity, understand the business need, and provide project estimates.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize improvements to code quality and systems.
  • Partners with stakeholders, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other business units to ensure overall technical product delivery.
  • Collaborates with peers and teams across IT to ensure cross-functional alignment and agreement of work between functional areas is accounted for in project plans.
  • Takes ownership and provides technical leadership related to system availability and operational issues that may occur on the eCommerce platform.
  • Work with stakeholders and senior management to ensure that efforts are prioritized, and resources are allocated accordingly.
  • Works with other IT staff to develop technical specifications based upon functional specs as created.
  • Enforces typical systems development life cycle processes.
  • Leads, facilitates, and maintains a documented onboarding process for orienting and for mentoring less experienced engineers to ramp on our products and testing methodologies.
  • Uphold test code quality standards through code review and coaching.
  • Effectively communicate status and escalate issues, risks, and concerns with Sr management and team members.
Required:
  • Three to five years of demonstrated experience as Software Development manager.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of microservice architecture such as Java, JavaScript, Ajax, REST/JSON, .NET and MySQL.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams focused on web, eCommerce, and mobile development, including experience building large-scale web solutions.
  • Ability to manage engineering teams in software-related application development using Agile principles.
  • Development experience building web services in Java is required to help guide the architectural roadmap.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to review, evaluate, and provide feedback on full-stack web application code using modern frameworks.
  • Organizational skills: track requests; prioritize complex tasks, manage to budget and/or timelines.
  • Problem-solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and seek to rectify issues before they become problems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience in agile, scrum environments
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be a goal-oriented team builder and collaborator who creates excitement, fosters innovation and collaboration.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university
