Video Production Specialist Needed (educational video production & upgrading)
Northwest Media, Inc. is a 30-year-old small privately owned business located in Eugene, OR. Since 2005, NWM operates a website that provides online, self-directed training for foster, kinship, and adoptive families around the world. We are seeking an educational video production specialist to join our team to continue the development of our highly interactive video courses. This is a long-term position that requires creativity, high-level production skills, excellent communication, and commitment to being a team player. The candidate for this position will work with another core video production team member, a full team of script writers, content experts, and our in-house software engineers to produce highly interactive training videos and bring older course content up-to-date.
This is an in-office position, located in downtown Eugene.

Main Duties and Skill Requirements of Educational Video Production Specialist
Pre-production (scripts/previews/storyboard)
Review and identify necessary course assets with production team, determine if existing assets are adequate or need updating
Manage talent recruitment and auditions
Brainstorm and dialogue with script writing team and programming dept. (if updating old courses, this includes generating solutions for potential revisions)
Produce segment of potential course for review and/or scratch track/storyboards, give and take critique
Creation of style guide
Production (shoot/record)
Maintain and operate AV recording equipment used in our in-house studio
Operate our teleprompter
Set up three-point lighting
Adhere to NWM educational course production standards while recording
Post production (edit/export)
Edit using Adobe pipeline for post-production process. This includes: Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Compositing in Premiere and After Effects
Creating motion graphics to reinforce educational content
Iterate multiple drafts of course during constructive review process
Consult with programming team for assets necessary to create interactives
Export video using encoder presets
Organization and Maintenance of Assets
Organize and manage production files, with the ability provide any information requested from these files, at any time
Identify assets in need of updates
Other requirements
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Shooting on location requires lifting and the carrying of gear.
Must have valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID.
Skills
Up-to-date knowledge of photography, videography, audio engineering, and Adobe
Understanding of codecs, exporting & importing, converting & compressing
Familiarity with creating content for web distribution
Familiarity with ADA compliance
Understanding of creating scalable and aesthetic components
Ability to work in Windows environment
Graphic design experience a plus
