If so, Pennsylvania's Office of Comptroller Operations has an exciting opportunity for a senior accountant within the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reporting (ACFR) unit. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a senior accountant in the ACFR unit, you will play a key, professional role in the preparation of several pieces of the state's ACFR and report to the unit’s manager within the Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management (BAFM). In this position, you will:

Assist with monitoring and implementing accounting standards that impact the state's ACFR.

Calculate, prepare, and post journal entries to convert the state's accounting records to conform with generally accepted accounting principles.

Prepare assigned ACFR note disclosures.

Collaborate with other members of the Office of Comptroller Operations and other state agencies to provide guidance on and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards.

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary: All employees new to Commonwealth employment will start at the minimum salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Accountant 2;or

Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
