Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role involves working onsite and is a crucial part of our finance and inside sales teams. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining customer credit records, processing customer credit applications, and ensuring the accuracy of our accounts receivable ledger.Responsibilities: Process daily cash deposits and fill out cash control sheets in Excel. Maintain an accurate record of customer accounts, ensuring all information is up-to-date. Handle customer inquiries related to accounts receivable and follow up as necessary. Process and reconcile daily credit card transactions and deposits. Research and process customer claims of invoice payment. Manage customer claims related to charge backs, returns, and bad checks. Issue receivable freight invoices and credit memos as needed. Process invoices through customer Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) websites. Balance month-end general ledger accounts and reconcile any discrepancies. Assist with related special projects as required. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary. Must possess strong Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to handle Cash Deposits is essential. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software. Proficiency in English and in MS Office. Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
