Description A well-established nonprofit organization located in downtown is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will support various accounting functions, including month-end close processes, grant management, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and more, using Blackbaud/Financial Edge software. This is an onsite position, requiring attendance 5 days a week.Responsibilities: Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure they are up-to-date. Process customer credit applications with precision and timeliness. Maintain accurate and comprehensive customer credit records. Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally. Utilize Yardi software for efficient account management. Perform account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy of accounts. Implement and maintain fund accounting practices for non-profit accounts. Oversee the accounts payable process to ensure timely payments. Develop and implement effective strategies for account receivables management. Proven experience in a managerial role within the Accounts Receivable department is essential. Proficiency in Yardi software is required. Candidate must have experience in Fund Accounting, specifically within a non-profit environment. Strong skills in Account Reconciliation are necessary. Prior experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is needed. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is necessary. Familiarity with accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), is required. Excellent leadership and team management skills are a must. High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
