Advance Program Manager The candidate must be willing to accept full-time employment at the conclusion of the contract. This is a temp to hire position. Primary Skills: Bachelor's Degree is required. 5+ years project management or technical leadership hands-on related work experience. Proven ability to function in a small team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with technology and business communities. Ability to manage a portfolio of projects prepare project plans and continuously monitor the projects in terms of the status of the project plan. Highly desirable traits include leadership disciplined self-organized team-focused accountable and adaptable. Knowledge of or experience with Agile development approaches Scrum and Kanban are highly desirable. Ability to prepare time/budget/resource estimates. Job Description The Nittany Ai Advance Program Manager (APM) leads an experiential learning program focused on team-based projects focused on artificial intelligence (AI) for good. The APM works with the Strategic Partner Manager (SPM) to develop and define projects with industry and nonprofit partners, while maintaining a portfolio of student-staffed projects focused on providing experiential learning opportunities. The APM works with industry partners to identify project opportunities to support the Nittany AI Advance program. The APM supports various aspects of the project life cycle, from project discovery to the project stakeholder debrief. The APM assists the project leaders (PLs) in addressing issues or helping to remove obstacles that may hinder project success. The APM oversees all aspects of the Advance program projects through the full project life cycle and is responsible for assisting the PLs in ensuring the successful completion of the projects. The APM interacts with project stakeholders, sponsors, and the Nittany AI Alliance director. The APM is expected to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously and is responsible for setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing the progress of the project(s). The APM will work with PLs to identify and manage project risks and issues and proactively manage change throughout the project life cycle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversees the portfolio of projects, assisting and mentoring project leaders (PLs) in their duties as scrum masters, participating in bi-weekly sprint meetings with client, and helping to achieve project success. Participates in project pre-launch and launch meetings, while providing leadership through the full project life cycle. Helps to maintain a pipeline of potential future projects with existing partners, while assisting the SPM to secure new projects. Creates and executes project discovery workshops, develops project charters with SPM and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Works with SPM and director to determine development opportunities and evaluates the business case for any enhancements to the Advance program. Manages tasks and coordinates with PLs across projects to achieve successful project completion. Provides weekly progress and status reports to Nittany AI Alliance director. Reviews final project results prepared by team and conducts project debrief meetings with the clients. Determines project resource requirements and works with office manager to resolve scheduling conflicts. Recruit students for each project, working closely with office manager, Challenge Program Manager, and SPM, ensuring project resource requirements are met. Conducts Advance program orientation meeting for new student interns. Manages overall budget for the Advance program, overseeing the funding for each project.
