API Performance Tester

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technical/Functional Skills

Strong at performance testing lifecycle and/or performance test automation to accurate results and improve productivity
Testing Tools and Monitoring Solutions: LoadRunner, JMeter, Postman/SoapUI, ReadAPI, JProfiler, HP Service Virtualization / Parasort Virtualize, AppDynamic, NewRelic, Dynatrace, etc…
Possess knowledge on the following DevOps Environment and Processes, Agile Development Methodologies, Python/Shell and Git/Jenkins
Expertise in different performance scripting protocols such as Web/HTTP/HTTPS/Webservice

Roles & Responsibilities

Very good understanding on SOA testing process and relevant testing tools to determine stability and scalability to gauge APIs performance under peak load conditions
Identify potential bottlenecks within the SOA/Middleware architecture and provide recommendations to performance optimization and scalability assurance
Expertise to perform different types performance tests (load, stress, spike, component, endurance, scalability, etc) on APIs/Web services
Enable early performance testing by leveraging until and/or functional tests as applicable at the earliest stage of the application development cycle
Analyze load model with realistic system behavior and simulate right user scenarios to automate performance testing
Competence to build automation test suite from the ground to benchmark API Performance where smaller components/services/micro services tied together to produce business requirements
Spot bottlenecks to ensure system robustness while the services/micro-services are loosely coupled and stateless
Provide recommendations by analyzing key performance indicators on application’s health say client and server side metrics - response times, hits per second, http connections, throughput, memory usage, CPU utilization, network latency, etc…
