Application Engineer

Description:The Application Engineering role provides technical leadership to our Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams by applying broad-based expertise in product and process design. Application Engineering’s primary focus is on new business opportunities through ownership of projects going through our quote process. There is a secondary focus on application of new technology in innovative ways to further our process competence and capability and create competitive advantage.Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership for New Business Development:

Review customers' technical needs and recommend specific product/service solutions to meet these needs

Interact with customers to access their requirements and provide innovative solutions

Research and advise on market driven process changes and technology in our markets

Assist in the technical needs of the New Product Introduction team

Assure clarity while transitioning from Quote through Contract Review approval

Advise on technical aspects of new programs as requested

Support and sometimes lead continuous improvement projects

Analyze and report manufacturing data on assigned projects

Provide financial analysis, project scope, and obtain approval to proceed

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Engineering field

Must be able to effectively communicate manufacturing processes with customer based on their product specifications

8+ years of experience in the Agriculture, Mining and Construction, Appliance, or HVAC industries

Advanced 3D CAD skills

Operations and Engineering shop floor experience

Financial knowledge and experience in product costing and in support of Capital Expenditure decisions
