It is a requirement of all Independence facilities that if anyone needs to be onsite for any amount of time, they must be fully vaccinated. The Business Process Engineering team is embedded within the Application Development team to ensure a holistic process view from simple to complex projects. This team is accountable for partnering with business, operation and technical associates to define end-to-end processes and recommendations. This team drives a ‘process first’ view rather than task-based improvements. The Business Process Analyst will work with teammates to review processes from a cross-functional perspective, documenting current processes, procedures, identifying efficiency gains, including automation opportunities, and creating future state solution options; across all our lines of business.

Job Description
  • Define current state with a complete view of up and downstream impacts on all internal and external functional areas
  • Work with internal and external resources to define pain points, inefficiencies and potential future state process and solution opportunities
  • Document current and future state cross-functional process flows
  • Document procedures and develop PowerPoint presentations independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills on a daily basis, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to various levels of resources (e.g. Customer Service Representative, Vice President)
  • Provide leadership with project status, feedback and appropriate level of report details on key projects
  • Effectively lead team projects and participate as a team member/contributor
  • Manage relationships with internal business partners and project stakeholders
  • As applicable, include Regulation controls in all process documentation
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications - External

Qualifications:
  • 4-7 years of healthcare related process improvement or equivalent
  • College degree required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Proven intermediate to advanced cross-functional process flow experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proven data analysis
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Proven data analysis and ability to demonstrate pattern recognition quickly
  • Highly motivated and works well as a team member or individual contributor; dependent upon project demand and type
  • Intermediate to advanced technical and requirements writing
  • Capable of leading projects and meeting and/or exceeding deadlines
  • Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) experience, preferred
  • Agile methodology experience, preferred
  • Strong project and time management
  • Awareness of ACA and BCBSA Regulations
