Our organization is looking for a results-driven and growth-oriented individual to join our purchasing department as a Buyer in Lancaster, PA. The Buyer is responsible for acquiring materials, supplies and services for items which have standard costs and quoted discounts already in place. The Buyer will determine the method of procurement and prepare purchase orders or bid requests. This position will review bid proposals and may negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. The Buyer will maintain records pertaining to cost, delivery, performance, inventory levels and supplier visits. This position will partner with key members of the facility to ensure all operating needs are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Job Duties

Purchases approved office supplies, raw materials, and operating (MRO) supplies in order to keep all production lines and the facility functioning properly; maintains proper levels of inventory (on or off site) along with maintaining positive vendor relationships; ensures sufficient materials are on order at all times

Performs Purchase Order processing and maintenance

Plans and schedules raw material and/or MRO purchases to support Strategic Procurement Plan

Explores alternate sourcing options for purchased parts as directed. Prepares cost analysis and supplier comparisons, makes recommendations for change that are consistent with the strategic goals of the Company

Records and communicates to appropriate management regarding expected delivery dates, arrival of products, missed deliveries (including revised plans and available alternative options)

Oversees the import and export of raw materials and finished goods

Implements and maintains company Purchasing Specifications and maintains supplier scorecards to evaluate supplier performance

Qualifications:

3+ years of Purchasing experience

Experience with an ERP system / EPICOR is a plus

Manufacturing industry experience

Ability to develop positive and effective relationships with suppliers and internal department personnel

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively and comfortably as well as interact professionally and courteously

Well organized; ability to effectively manage and prioritize several tasks on a regular basis

Excellent computer skills to include MS Office software and ERP/MRP experience
