DescriptionUPMC Senior Communities is looking for a Casual Care GiverThis position will require traveling to multiple facilitiesIn this role, you will provide personal care, household management, and companionship services as designated in the customer's plan of care. This will be done in a manner consistent with efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.Responsibilities:Assist customers with personal care. Perform bathing (partial or complete tub, shower, sponge sink, other), routine mouth/denture care, hair care (shampoo, comb/brush), nail care (clean, file), routine skin care, shaving, dressing, and toileting/incontinence care.

Utilize GREAT Customer Communication techniques when interacting with all customers. Report customer concerns/complaints to the Care Supervisor for immediate follow up and resolution.

Comply with agency requirements. Adhere to infection control principles and standards. Adhere to agency bag care standard. Utilize agency equipment in performance of care. Complete ongoing and annual educational requirements to maintain competency. Regularly attend required staff meetings.

Maintain and protect customer, staff, and Agency confidentiality.

Responsible for observing and immediately communicating to the Care Supervisor any changes in a customer's condition or suspected cases of abuse or neglect.

Assist customers with positioning, application of simple braces and/or equipment, transfers, ambulation, and previously established exercise programs.

Responsible for accurate documentation of care provided and observations. Document care provided, within the established guidelines of the plan of care. Document observations or changes in the customer's condition/environment and any suspected cases of abuse or neglect. Immediately communicate to the Care Supervisor any changes in a customer's condition or suspected cases of abuse or neglect. Submit documentation within Agency defined timeframes.

Demonstrate support of agency mission and philosophy in delivery of services.

Promote personal, co-worker, customer, and visitor safety during work duties.

Meal preparation, food storage, and feeding. Conduct basic menu planning. Prepare and serve meals. Monitor stored foods for freshness. Assist with feeding as necessary. Conduct companionship activities with customers to improve their quality of life and assure their safety. Escort customers to social or recreational activities. Engage the customer in reading, playing games, watching television, or simple conversation. Provide transportation to customers in order for them to attend various appointments or activities. Perform specialized tasks as directed on the customer's Plan of Care. Remind customer to take medications and assist as necessary. Simple catheter care external foley (emptying bag and cleaning). Ostomy Care (assist with appliance, cleaning). Simple / minor wound dressing changes.

Perform all direct customer care in accordance with established Plan of Care and within the guidelines of agency policies and procedures.

Responsible to Human Resources (HR) compliance Submit required HR documentation when due. Adhere to Agency Dress Code. Wear Identification badge. Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality.

Assist customers with household management tasks. Perform light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming and dusting, straightening rooms, washing dishes, cookware, and utensils, making the bed, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, showers, tubs, and toilets, emptying the trash, and cleaning the kitchen sink, countertops, floors, and appliances, Wash and dry laundry, iron and fold clothes, and put them in their proper place. Perform grocery shopping and complete errands. Make grocery lists, clip coupons, and perform shopping. Pick up prescriptions or other necessary supplies. Caring for houseplants and pets. Watering and general care for houseplants. Feeding pets and transporting them to veterinary or grooming appointments. Sorting/reading mail, writing correspondence, and paying bills.

Participate in performance improvement activities. Recommend and implement performance improvement strategies. Participate on performance improvement teams, as requested.

QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.

No weight restrictions for lifting or moving

No formal experienced needed, facility will triain.
