The Department of Corrections at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Chaplaincy Program Director to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the administration of a diverse interfaith religious services program within the institution's religious services department. DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will oversee the management of religious activities and the chaplaincy department. Your duties will include serving inmates of various faiths, administering appropriate sacraments, and conducting rites and ceremonies for those who align with your faith tradition. Furthermore, you will facilitate primary religious gatherings for inmates sharing your broader faith tradition, supervise similar provisions for inmates of different faiths, conduct rounds throughout the facility, and provide spiritual and grief counseling to any inmate interested, irrespective of their spiritual or religious beliefs. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Chaplain (Commonwealth title);or
Three years of professional pastoral experience that includes one year in an institutional or specialized setting and a bachelor’s degree;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional pastoral experience in an institutional or specialized setting.
Special Requirements:
All candidates are required, at the time of application, to provide documentation from an officially sanctioned faith group dated within one year of the application date stating they are officially sanctioned or authorized to conduct worship/sacred services, and specifying which sacraments, rites, ceremonies, or rituals they are authorized to perform as a religious leader.
All employees in the Department of Corrections must complete the Correctional Chaplains Training Course within six months of hire.
All employees in the Department of Corrections must maintain their credentials with an officially sanctioned faith group on an annual basis for the duration of employment.
This position requires one unit of clinical pastoral education or an equivalent specialized training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
