THE POSITION

Join our York District Office as a Clerical Assistant 3 and be part of something bigger than yourself that makes a positive difference in the world!DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will provide varied, complex clerical support to the District Administrator and Assistant District Administrator to ensure efficient communication and prompt, accurate processing of personnel activities. This includes coordinating specific duties, maintaining schedules and itineraries, processing human resource information, serving as timekeeper, and the procurement of office supplies and items necessary for events. You will also maintain all office administrative files, confidential case files, and correspondence.Supporting internal and external office communication is key. This position types correspondence, reports, personnel, and other various documents for the review and signature of the District Administrator and Assistant District Administrator. You will also receive and conducts some telephone calls on their behalf to give assistance if possible or route calls appropriately as well as receive and respond to email from staff and other agencies and inform staff of new policies and procedures. Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in York.

Salary:Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or

One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations.Recruitment Methods:

e will also consider applications from current Commonwealth employees in pay scale group ST03 for which there is a logical occupational, functional, or career developmental relationship to this position. All applicants must meet the minimum experience and training requirements.

Employees who previously held regular civil service status in the job title of the position being filled are also eligible for promotion without examination.

The promotion without examination requirements are issued in accordance with merit system employment regulations.

Meritorious service is defined as (a) the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting, and (b) the last regular or probationary performance evaluation showing an overall rating of satisfactory or higher.
