THE POSITION

The Department of Labor and Industry has a Clerical Assistant 2 vacancy in their Scranton Office. Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer and Clerical Supervisor, the person occupying this position is responsible for the following duties:

Utilizes the SMART System on a daily basis, making the necessary changes and updates to policies, as required by Policyholders, Brokers/Agents, and Pennsylvania Compensation Review Board (PCRB) and Coal Mining Compensation Review Board (CMCRB) correspondence, such as change of address, experience modifications, anniversary rated dates, federal identification numbers, telephone numbers, ownership information, additional locations, and related information.

Handles daily mail, reviewing, sorting, and distributing to the appropriate personnel, and stamp dating of receipt.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found intheposition description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.

Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of your probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
