UPMC Hamot, a Magnet designated facility located in Erie, PA is hiring a Clinician to join the Main Operating Room!UPMC Hamot's Operating Room is a 17-suite facility with specialties ranging from Robotics and Kidney Transplants to Trauma. The team provides high-quality care for elective and urgent patients of all ages. The Clinician will oversee the Orthopedic, Podiatry, and Hand Service Lines.This position is four 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with occasional on-call hours.$15,000 sign-on bonus available for nurses with over one year of experience!Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience.The Clinician is a nurse leader responsible for promoting a culture of excellence and patient care. As a highly developed role model in professional nursing practice, the Clinician, under the guidance of the Unit Director or department manager, conducts employee evaluations, handles staff selection and hiring, and manages daily performance of direct reports. The role includes providing service-based education and clinical expertise, including staff orientation and training, practice issue consultation, and coordination of clinical activities. The Clinician may also have shift accountability for delivering nursing care when needed.Responsibilities:

Minimum 3 years of nursing experience

Master’s degree preferred

BS/BSN required; if BS degree is not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required

Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse

Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately with the ages of patients served by the assigned unit

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span

Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs

Ability to provide care needs as described in the department policy and procedures

Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families

Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment

Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care

Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and lead others in the application of the nursing process

Mobility and visual manual dexterity

Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.

National Certification preferred.

Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
