W2 only No C2CAs a Linguistic Engineer in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group, you will design linguistic annotation schemas and ontologies. In your daily work you will work closely with product managers to build more effective NLP systems Collaborate with NLP engineers and editorial teams to develop coherent, multi-lingual and scalable meaning representation frameworks,in particular domain-specific and task-oriented ontologies, and annotation schemas. Write annotation guidelines, train/manage annotators, and guide annotation efforts to train and test machine learning models. Measure accuracy and reliability of annotated data, and develop and maintain feedback loops for managing the quality of annotated data. Use your scripting and programming skills to conduct large-scale linguistic data analysis to inform annotation scheme development. Train and evaluate NLP systems, identify errors and propose solutions. Solve complex problems that arise in production and find customer-centric solutions.Who you are: You have a Masters/Ph.D. degree in Linguistics. You have knowledge of multiple areas of linguistics, including morphology, syntax, semantics, discourse and dialog. You have 3+ years experience using Unix command-line and programming (Python preferred) to process and analyze large-scale language data. You have an understanding of machine learning methods for NLP, in particular deep learning methods. You know about experimental design and evaluation methodologies, and have conducted qualitative and quantitative error analysis. You are an effective communicator, both verbal and written, and have experience in presenting your work in informal and formal settings.
