Construction Coordinator

In addition, employees are also entitled to participate in an employer sponsored 401(k) plan, to save for retirement.  Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.  Position Purpose: Coordinates construction activities with customers, contractors, and regulatory authorities in the planning, design, construction, and inspection of water facility installations. Ensures compliance with plans, specifications and schedule. Manages and tracks project costs.Primary Duties/responsibilities:Coordinates new and replacement infrastructure projects.Assists in design and layout of water distribution facilities.Prepares cost estimates from design drawings.Incorporates projects into Power Plan software for intercompany approval.Prepares material lists, assists in purchasing and receiving of materials. Performs issue and return of materials from inventory.Performs field testing and inspection of projects. Ensures that outside contractors perform work in accordance with Company and governmental policies and procedures.Resolves conflicts between design and field conditions in a timely manner consistent with good engineering and construction practices.Tracks work performed by outside contractors and ensures all invoices are accurate.Monitors and tracks expenditures during installation of facilities in accordance with Company policies.Communicates via letters, e-mail, and phone, with Contractor/Developer, government officials, and customers.Reviews as-builts of jobs to ensure accuracy.Inspects, coordinates, and delivers miscellaneous capital projects as assigned.Provide support to Operation Departments as needed.
