Description ControllerA client of ours is looking for a Controller for a contract role. As the Controller you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for financial planning, cost analysis, reporting, and strategic financial decision-making to support our manufacturing goals.Responsibilities of Controller

Develop and manage the budget for manufacturing operations, including forecasting expenses, revenue, and capital investments.

Analyze production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.

Prepare regular financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to track the performance of manufacturing operations.

Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal production efficiency while minimizing carrying costs.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific regulations relevant to manufacturing.

Identify areas for process improvement in manufacturing operations to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term manufacturing strategies and investment plans.

Assess financial risks associated with manufacturing operations and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.

Lead a team of finance professionals responsible for manufacturing finance functions.

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Controller

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role, ideally in a fast-paced corporate environment

5+ years’ experience as a Controller; previous in a manufacturing environment

Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

Familiarity with relevant financial regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Excellent communication skills to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide insights for decision-making.

Leadership and management skills to oversee a team and drive financial performance improvements.

Problem-solving ability to identify financial challenges and develop solutions.
