Description ControllerA client of ours is looking for a Controller for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the SaaS industry and extensive NetSuite experience. This role requires recent controllership experience and the ability to travel for an initial three-month period. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance to ensure the company's financial health and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities of Controller

Oversee all accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Lead the development and enhancement of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Provide board-level financial reporting and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Support mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information.

Utilize advanced spreadsheet modeling for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.

Collaborate cross-functionally to support financial planning and business operations.

Ensuring full business compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Controller

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance, demonstrating increasing responsibility and significant achievements.

Hands-on experience as a Controller or lead accountant is preferred.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in both service and product-based business models.

Prior experience building and optimizing accounting and finance teams, systems, and processes.

Private equity experience is highly desirable.

Proficiency in board-level reporting and supporting multiple business units.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess key metrics and drive data-driven decisions.

Experience with M& A transactions, including due diligence and integration.

Advanced skills in spreadsheet modeling, particularly for budgeting, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis.

Ability to work with strict confidentiality and manage highly sensitive financial information.

Highly adaptable, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as QuickBooks and Member Suite.
