Position: Controls EngineerJob Overview: The Controls Engineer is responsible for electrical, controls, and automation projects, and tasks supporting manufacturing processes with newequipment or upgrades of existing equipment. The Controls Engineer will design, estimate, and maintain budgets, including managing installations, programs, and commission systems. Responsibilities:

Develop and review specifications and drawings for new systems and modifications to existing systems.

Design and document electrical, control panel, and custom solutions with an understanding of industrial power and control techniques in addition to developing electrical schematics.

Program and configure electrical, control, and automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, loop controllers, and VFDs.

Design and manage projects to ensure they meet time and budget targets, providing status updates, spending forecasts, and timelines.

Work with suppliers and the Manufacturing department to obtain competitive quotes for components, systems, and installation work.

Design and develop software for control panels, control systems, and custom solutions.

Create schematics/electrical wiring diagrams for electrical systems.

Lead installation and modification efforts, manage cost, quality, and delivery using internal and external resources.

Provide installation and technical support of control systems at customer sites.

Prepare comprehensive technical support documentation packages for electrical assemblers and installers.

Troubleshoot electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.

Support manufacturing by providing laser-ready artwork for production.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

3 – 5 years’ Experience is preferred in the field of Electrical and Controls Engineering performing automation and controls design.

Project Management skills from inception to commissioning in an industrial environment.

Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic drawing.

Experience with industrial power, circuit sizing and protection, motor control, sensors, and control components.

Experience with AutoCAD and circuit diagrams.

Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.

Driver’s License and good driving record

Programming experience with PLC and HMI

Nidec and Siemens programming is a plus.

Working knowledge and experience applying UL 508A and NFPA 70

Proficient computer and network skills

Hard Skills:

PLC Programming - from Scratch, Sieman/Nidec Preferred (Structured Text Programming)

CAD - Small team, AutoCAD Electrical needed on some level

Project Management skills
