This is managerial work directing the operations of a major court function. This class is distinguished from the next lower level by the court-wide impact of assigned functions, and degree of accountability reflected in effective overall court administration and participation in policy recommendation and implementation. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Directs the operation of a major court function.Develops and implements new procedures (Standard Operating Procedures) to enhance the workflow of the office.Plans, organizes, staffs, and coordinates the work of a group of professional, technical, and clerical personnel.Responds to inquiries from Deputy Court Administrator, Directors, other senior level managers, and the Judiciary regarding special reporting requests.Commitment to quality and excellence in all forms of communicationEstablish rapport and trust with a range of staff members identifying team and project needs and remaining open to considering multiple points-of-view.Outline expectations and communicate effectively with the team members.Effectively assign, delegate, and coordinate the work of team members.Encourage and demonstrate unity behind team and Department’s decision making.Handle personnel issues related to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues etc.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:Performs related work as required.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:Standard office conditions.In order to apply and be considered for this position, please visit https://fjdcareers.phila.gov/Cyberweb/ to complete an application and upload a resume.Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience of leadership, management and supervision of employees and processes.Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Court Reporting programsStrong team player with ability to interact well with all levels of staff in the organization.Thorough knowledge of English usage and grammar.Thorough knowledge of supervisory methods and practices.Considerable knowledge of the principles of procedures analysis, work simplification, and forms and records control.Considerable knowledge of the principles, standards and goals of administrative organization and management.Ability to learn, within a reasonable period of time, the functions, policies, procedures and operations of the court unit to which assigned.Ability to supervise a large group skilled employees engaged in varied tasks.Ability to represent the assigned unit in conferences and meetings with the public and private officials.In order to apply and be considered for this position, please visit https://fjdcareers.phila.gov/Cyberweb/ to complete an application and upload a resume.Work-LifeWorking hours are 40 hours per week.  This is a full-time, in person position with the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.
