Job Summary:The Safe Corridors Crossing Guard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students at their assigned location in the city of Chester. Our crossing guards keep pedestrians and traffic safe near schools and bus pick up/ drop off locations. Our Crossing Guards direct traffic, stop it when necessary, and help students cross the street. Safe Corridors Crossing Guards are also expected to explain traffic crossing rules to students and drivers and discourage unsafe behavior. This position requires a willingness to communicate any concerns to their supervisor, implement appropriate safety measures, attend monthly professional development, and serve as a bridge between parents, bus drivers, and schools.Responsibilities and Duties:Communication:
Facilitate communication between school staff, other Crossing Guards, students and parents.

- Provide updates regarding Crossing Guards' involvement with students, staff, and parents- as needed.```{=html}```
- Verbally communicate and reinforce expectations with students and parents.```{=html}```
- Share communication on a weekly basis reflecting attendance, incident involvement, as well as any areas of concern.```{=html}```
- Use a 24-hour deadline for escalating concerns in writing to your supervisors (Director of Operations and Chief of Operations).Collaboration:
Collaborate with your team in a solutions-oriented way to enhance preventative safety measures through daily morning huddles and once a week feedback meeting.
