is hiring a Data Integration Analyst to join the growing team! Data Integration Analysts will analyze large data sets of diverse, and complex healthcare data. Through the analysis, they will discover patterns and anomalies, document outcomes and recommendations, and perform integration transformations on data, utilizing proven strategies. They will work closely with various business, technical and possibly clinical professionals as a regular practice. Additional responsibilities may include assessing databases and external sources to extract the appropriate data context related to the business request, simple report and query creation, product support and ongoing data maintenance responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate working knowledge of Mirth (or similar healthcare integration engine), HL7, CDA, FHIR, healthcare applications, clinical and EMR workflows, and basic database querying skills.
- Provide service to UPMC Departments, affiliates and UPMCE client communities while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Data Engineering Design, Development and Delivery processes. Follow integration policies and procedures.
- Process Data Engineering service requests and change requests.
- Configure end-to-end data integrations and document outcomes.
- Test interfaces - including unit, integrated, volume testing with UPMC IT and external vendors, application analysts and/or users and document outcomes.
- Work independently on user stories and own and work on stories through each of the scrum stage gates effectively.
- Gather requirements, review vendor specifications, discover data sources, and obtain necessary accesses to achieve accurate data representation.
- Work cooperatively and constructively with many teams and roles within the organizations.
- Write and maintain supporting documentation for integrations.
- Document, troubleshoot, and appropriately address production issues with the customer and effectively communicate with the team and other stakeholders.
- Manage tasks and timelines related to assigned work. Escalate Risks and delays timely and effectively to the team Lead.
- Demonstrate the ability to create and deliver clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications.
- Complete projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach. Work in collaboration with team and offer feedback, where appropriate, to support individual and group efforts. Show the ability to adjust and be flexible to change by adapting approaches when necessary.
- Responsible for continuous self-study, training, partnering with senior members, and/or seek out opportunities to broaden scope and to stay up to date with industry and organizational trends. Seek feedback from senior team members for development and effectively incorporate feedback into work and behaviors.
- Assist in the education and mentoring of new members of the team. May sign-off on junior teammate's work.
- Bachelor's degree in a field like mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or computer science preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- May also complete a master's degree or obtain certifications in programming languages or other areas related to data analytics
- Technical writing skills
- Demonstrate effective usage of SQL, Python, or JavaScript
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
