Our company is seeking candidates for an open entry level data science position. This position is responsible for data quality, management, reporting & visualization using R, knitr and SQL to support EpiCenter software platform, as well as related systems. EpiCenter is a Software-as-a-Service system provided to public health to monitor healthcare-related data.The system connects healthcare to public health by gathering data from hospitals, urgent care centers and physician offices. EpiCenter is the largest system in the country that collects real-time healthcare data directly from healthcare providers.Our data science position will be responsible for reviewing data quality and using data to assess sending system capabilities before applying appropriate processing configuration for the EpiCenter software.Additionally, this position will be responsible for authoring reports on data quality and status using R andknitr. This position will provide broad exposure to a sophisticated software development environment,nmature software lifecycle and healthcare technology. Our systems run on Linux and use Java for thebackend and Ext JavaScript for the browser UI. The PostgreSQL database supports the hundreds of millions of records that our system processes every day. The R language and environment has been integrated intothe server backend and the database layer to supplement analytical and reporting functions.Qualifications? Successful candidates must be comfortable with analyzing performance of systems both in a formal and informal fashion. The ability to work with our biostatistician in an intelligent fashion is essential.? Successful candidates must have experience in the design and development of custom, original data processing pipelines.? Candidates are expected to be fluent in writing scripting code demonstrated with sample data processing scenarios.
