This role is accountable forleading the Commercial Operations I&T Platform teams. Core to its success is balancingenterpriseways or working & platformstability,withenablingappropriatelocalization ofthe global platforms.This is achieved by orchestrating services fromwithin the team,across the enterprise andviathird party organizations.

The role is a key partner to the Commercial Business Operations Team and theCommercial I&T regional leads.Empowered to make decisions regarding the capabilitiesrequired, the role is responsible for establishingasolution/platformvision and roadmapdirectly linked to Commercial Operations objectives.

They arealsoresponsibleoperational excellence of the Commercial platformslandscape. This includes oversight ofsolution/product backlogsthatenablecontinuousimprovementover time. Solutions will bearchitected according to identified business capability needs and enterprise technology standards/processes as appropriate.

Principal Accountabilities

Strategy & Roadmaps

  • Develops a deep knowledge ofGlobal Commercial Operations (GCO)and builds positive relationships throughout the supported function.Additionally, educate GCO colleagues about processes, roles, and capabilities of I&T that can create value for GCO. 

  • Helps developand drive the I&T vision and strategyinto the region inspiring confidence and creatingpurpose.

  • Facilitate and drivealignment among key stakeholders,especially Commercial Business Operations,convergingon aplatformstrategy,vision,and roadmap

  • Actively participate in establishing the strategy, framework and standards of the business that enable value-based outcomes usingour commercial platforms, ensuring alignment between technology investment and strategic business opportunities

  • Partner with global IT leadership and Enterprise Architecture in the development ofcapability models,roadmapsand reference architecturesthat coverCommercial Operationsat the enterprise andaffiliatelevel

  • Understand the changes in standards and regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical industry relative to their function to ensure the technology portfolio continues to add business value.

  • Be creative and innovative using industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs. 

  • Ability to visualize and create high-level models/frameworks that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture 

Operational Excellence

  • Builda platform operating model toensure we are brilliant at the basics of Commercial technology& forge the strongest possible partnership with Commercial Business Operations

  • Lead and manage service providers in supporting theplatformlandscape

  • Drive robustongoinggovernance of platforms to ensure control over the technical landscape&the global user base.

  • Carefully balance in/out-source/partners and package/build when making technology decisions.

  • Provide clear and frequent communications to all stakeholders on operational effectiveness and key initiatives.

  • Build,maintain,trackand communicateKPIs for their functional IT team and ensure adherence to SLAs/performance metrics.

  • Ensure services comply with the internal group IT security policy, IT business continuity plans and as appropriate,Quality Management System framework and external applicable regulations such as, GDPR, consent management

  • Set andmanagethe budget for the domain and developingplans for continuous service improvement.

Resources & leadership

  • Lead an effective I&T team using direct and indirect I&T resources who are business outcome focused.

  • Lead, motivate and manage the internal team and other associated resources, direct or indirect.

  • Foster and promote strong collaboration within theCommercial I&Tteam, wider IT function and the broader business.

  • Accountable for ensuring there is effective knowledge management, training and other related policies and procedures in place

  • Interface with stakeholders across the CSL enterprise to regularly to exchange information, explore opportunities, and drive synergies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degreeis required.

Experience

  • 10+ yearsprior relevant experience

  • 4+ years managerial experience and/or demonstrated leadership experienceRequires broad management knowledge to leadcommercial platformteams.

  • Experience with one of the Enterprise Veeva software products, including Veeva CRM, Veeva Align, Veeva Network, or Veeva Medcomm

  • Knowledge and skills withinthe Commercial domain including CRM, Web & Customer Service/Operations solutions

  • Demonstrated,broad understanding ofthe commercial operations.

  • Experienced in working with outsourced service providers in an international context.

  • Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to engage bothtechnical resourcesand business partners to achieve target outcomes

  • Experience of working in heavily matrixed organisations

  • Demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management and critical stakeholders 

  • Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable
