If you possess strong leadership skills and a solid foundation in ecology or environmental science and are driven by the chance to positively influence the Commonwealths and state forests ecological well-being, we invite you to apply and become part of our vibrant team.DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this role, you will support the State Forester's office, various Divisions, Sections, and field offices of the Bureau, as well as the public, by overseeing, organizing, coordinating, and implementing the Bureau's Ecological Services programs. These programs encompass a range of initiatives, including the wild plant program, the vulnerable plants/non-timber forest product program, wildlife and aquatic habitat restoration and creation, native planting and seeding efforts, environmental review coordination on state forest lands, field programs, and other elements of forest ecosystem management handled by the Ecological Services Section. Furthermore, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing the staff within the Ecological Services Section, which is part of the Division of Conservation Science and Ecological Resources.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Overtime and travel as required
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as an Ecological Program Specialist, Forest Program Specialist, Natural Resource Program Specialist 2, or Wildlife Biologist 3 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years as a Forest Assistant Manager (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of professional experience in the management of plant, wildlife, or natural resources and bachelor's degree in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science, forestry, natural resources management, or a closely related field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
