Electrical Designer, Junior Level

Job Description

The Electrical Designer I is an entry-level position and performs their job functions under the supervision of a project’s Engineer-of-Record. Electrical design focuses on the design of electrical power, lighting, grounding/bonding, and other special systems, e.g., tellecommunications/data, security, fire alarm, raceway, cable tray and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment. Tasks include assisting with 3D modeling and design, conducting field investigations, performing red-to-black markup/review tasks, and producing discipline project drawingsaligned to CRB’s stringent BIM/CAD standards.

• Interface with client and external partners
• Ability to travel as for client development and project execution
• Responsible to lay out electrical systems in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines
• Conducts field investigations to integrate the design with existing systems and structures
• Produces discipline deliverables such as single line diagrams; equipment plans; panel schedules; lighting, power, grounding, fire alarm, raceway, cable tray, and electrical control system plans
• Produces installation details utilizing computer aided drafting engineering software in conformance with CRB’s VDC standards.
• Work on a variety of electrical assignments, likely on more than one project simultaneously, and will be expected to work closely with electrical staff members to ensure assignments are completed accurately and efficiently

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicable Associate degree or technical trade school certification
• 0 to 3 years of experience required including field experience in either a design or construction capacity
• Proficiency in Revit is required
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office is required

Additional Preferred

• Experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of electrical lighting, power, and special systems design preferred
• Strong communication skills
