Areas of specific focus include data architecture, integration strategy, commonality across data models, data design and data ownership.? Beyond providing direction and collaborating with the team, the Enterprise Data Architect would own the development, maintenance and evolution of the following deliverables in support of the Ascensus data strategy

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with and across business and IT teams to ensure that all applications and interfaces that create, maintain or consume essential/critical enterprise data are catalogued and monitored.? Actively engages with key project and business initiatives to understand how in-scope data will to be shared across the Ascensus landscape and collaborates with business process and system owners to align around a common data integration model.
  • Develops and maintains business data architecture standards and policies (i.e. a Strategy Document) that provides a framework for any application architecture decisions for data at Ascensus and supports any projects that will need to rely on and/or interact with (thereby ensuring that we?re always making coordinated and informed decisions).? This policy document would expect to include key data design principles for enterprise relevant data objects, system(s) of record and maintenance guidance, data integration strategies and rules of engagement, data syndication approaches, governance approaches, and security and controls guardrails.?
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of enterprise Data Flow Diagrams, which are an approved set of process flow that convey how (critical) data flows throughout the enterprise ? from creation of the data, through various layers of refinement, cleansing, and transformation, to the consumption of the data within processes/systems, on reports/dashboards, and even display screens in some cases.? The Data Flow Diagram is key to documenting the overall architecture and should be the starting place for the data design and mapping activities across any project.
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of Data Sharing Agreements, which are document(s) that describe the data, where it is located, who governs it, and who can access it.? The Data Sharing Agreements apply to sensitive data that needs to be restricted for use across the Ascensus landscape (internal and external). ?The data sharing agreement describes who can access the restricted data, when it is available, and how the access is accomplished.
  • Partners with the Enterprise Data Strategy, Scrum, I&A and Functional teams and other federated data roles to develop and update/maintain policies, standards, business rules and guidelines to ensure that a consistent data management and governance framework is applied across the organization.? While the Data Strategy and business teams ultimately own the standards and business rules, the Enterprise Data Architect will define and drive proper data design and integrations decisions, which also need standards and business rules to ensure interoperability.
  • Enables sustainable and integrated data management integrity and interoperability by ensuring that the Ascensus application architecture supports the creation, maintenance, integration, syndication, and governance of the critical enterprise and line-of-business data to support both operations and analytics.
  • Coach/mentor Data Modelers and Architects within the team and across lines of business to ensure sustainability of Ascensus Data Architecture and Strategy.

  • Provides, regular visibility into progress and communicates both business perspectives and IT implications to key stakeholders to inform alignment with the Ascensus business and technology long term value/vision.
  • Provides guidance to business stakeholders / project management and Scrum teams on how to best to utilize the data application landscape more effectively.
