The Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation is actively seeking an Environmental Projects Construction Inspector. If you are looking to advance your professional journey, the Wilkes-Barre District Office of the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation eagerly awaits your application! DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you w ill be responsible for examining the reclamation work on abandoned mine lands, which includes assessing construction and materials at project sites. You will also provide support to supervisors and project engineers on various projects overseen by the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation in the Wilkes-Barre District Office. Additionally, you will review contract plans and specifications for assigned projects, comparing them to the actual field conditions before construction begins, in order to address any discrepancies between the two whenever feasible. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
This is a field position that will cover project sites in the following Eastern PA counties: Luzerne, Lackawanna, Schuylkill, Columbia, Carbon, Monroe, Sullivan, Pike, Lehigh, Northumberland and Wyoming. You will be expected to report to the Wilkes-Barre District office on an as needed basis.
Telework: You will not report into an in-office location on a regular basis. Instead, you will work from home (telework) when you are not traveling to project sites. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, mine reclamation projects, treatment plants, hazardous waste projects, airports, highways or utility installations; or
An Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
All positions require p ossession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
