This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You willcontributeto the department by providing advanced administrative support, and such other tasks as assigned to you.Core responsibilities include:Serving as Executive Administrative Assistant and managing the day-to-day administration for the CEE Department Head and Executive Leadership Team.Managing special projects/events including the annual faculty and staff retreat; monthly staff and faculty meetings; the annual State of the Department presentation; visits by domestic and international delegates; annual faculty reports, and other CEE initiatives, as well as coordinating with CEE staff and faculty on other departmental academic and event activities.Overseeing the administrative aspects of the CEE Faculty Review, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) process.Managing the administrative aspects of the faculty hiring process, including managing and posting positions in Interfolio, coordinating onsite and remote visits, scheduling and communicating with faculty search committee, managing data, and responding to requests for information from both candidates and CMU.Submitting and processing complex travel reimbursements, expense reports and purchasing card reconciliations on behalf of the CEE Department HeadPreparing correspondence, reports and other documents as needed on behalf of CEE executive leadership.Preparing, tracking, and updating departmental operations documents such as annual reviews, courtesy appointments and gathering faculty CVsManaging and maintaining confidential information and sensitive files, including financial and personnel records/files.Serving as a front office liaison; troubleshooting problems and questions concerning departmental and/or university policies and procedures. Answering all routine and unique questions directly.Event support as needed with supervisor approval.Performing other related duties as assigned.Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon.
