For over 50 years, Ward’s Landscape Service, Inc. has provided the Erie area with high quality, professional landscape maintenance and construction services. We are currently seeking reliable and experienced Landscape Laborers. There's no complicated advancement here. The more you can learn and take on, the more pay and responsibility you'll get.

The Ideal Laborer Candidate Will:

Consistently arrive on time and prepared to work until the job is complete.

Maintain professional appearance and attitude.

Follow foreman’s directions and work as a team.

Be able to repeatedly lift heavy loads up to 50 Lbs and navigate jobsite terrain.

Correctly and safely use hand and power tools, as needed.

Be familiar with proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Ask questions when unclear of process or assignment.

Be willing to learn new skills and methods.

Always make safety and quality paramount

Represent the company well.

Common Daily Tasks Will Include:

Mulching

Picking Up Debris

Mowing

Pruning

Leaf Removal

Tree and Shrub Planting

Patio and Wall Installation

Drainage and Site Work

Candidates MUST have a valid driver's license and experience working for a landscape contractor. This isn't a Fake-It-Until-You-Make-It kind of position. We know a lot of folks have experience doing yardwork, but there is a host of different techniques and equipment professionals use to get the job done quickly, efficiently and in a team environment. Most folks know how to mow a lawn. Not a lot know how to mow 16 lawns in one day, working in step with one or two other people, getting it done fast enough that each lawn turns a small profit while still leaving it look as good as our customers expect. Whether it's mulching before Memorial Day, leaves before the snow, mowing before the rain, drainage while it's dry enough or a new patio before a party, we're always in a race against time and just can't afford to train someone from scratch.
