Job SummaryThis position will provide leadership, direction and support for the Store Leadership teams, specifically Front End Leaders within Giant Eagle Supermarkets, by establishing and implementing operating standards, procedures and policies to ensure processes are executed while striving for continuous improvement.Job Description

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
  • Experience Desired: 3 to 5 years of Store or Front End Leadership
  • Education Required: Bachelors Degree
  • Certification or Licensing Required: Food Safety
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
  • Travel Required: Regional - Overnight, 25 - 50%

Job Responsibilities
  • Communicate and coach to all methods, initiatives, policies and procedures that directly affect the Front End and Cash Office areas of the store. Use Blueprint and e-mails as methods to communicate
  • Monitor, communicate and coach to Front End performance metrics that are critical to Front End Operations such as Voice of the Guest, Items Per Minute, Items Per Bag and Front End Supply Costs
  • Act as a Front End Compliance Officer to ensure that all federal, state, county and city regulations and laws are being taught and followed at store level, etc Some of those items are Anti-Money laundering, Western Union, WIC
  • Collaborate with IT to introduce and communicate new innovative technology and processes to improve our operations and overall guest experience
  • Ensure that cash controls are in place by overseeing and coaching front end personnel on the monetary review process and holding front end personnel accountable to Project Hello standards
  • Develop, monitor and update policies and procedures for the Front End and Front Cash Office such as team member methods, refund policy, raincheck policy, etc. with input and feedback from team members and other corporate departments
  • Develop training curriculum with the help of Front End Personnel and the Learning and Development department to support education and compliance to Front End Operations
  • Implement and support all community promotions or fundraising activities that are supported through the front end like Harvest For Hunger, United Way, American Heart Association. Work with Community Relations and store front end personnel to ensure a successful campaign is achieved
