A leading utility provider located in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a GIS Technical Lead for a 6 month contract.

Requirements and skills

  • This position requires a Bachelors or Masters degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Consideration will be given to additional years of relevant experience and/or relevant technical certifications in lieu of the degree requirement. Graduate-level training or technical certification in GIS or programming is a plus.
  • High level of expertise in automated Python Scripting
  • Experience implementing and utilizing the ESRI GeoEvent Server
  • Experience in managing versioned databases
  • Experience with Arcade Expressions to customize out of the box ESRI content
  • Experience with PostgreSQL ESRI Databases
  • Experience with AWS/Off Premise Cloud Integration
  • Experience with being a geodatabase administrator creating and managing roles
  • Experience managing ESRI's End User Licensing Structure
  • Familiarity with sharing data externally via REST services and AGOL Collaboration
  • Experience with DNVGL's/Synergi's Pipeline's Mains Replacement Prioritization (MRP) model is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex data analysis using ArcGIS and related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other computer software; understands and can apply the capabilities of GIS, databases, and other computer programs to solve complex spatial and relational problems.
  • Designs and implements GIS and relational databases in various formats.
  • Designs and implements custom applications both for the desktop and the internet.
  • Conducts data analysis and preparation of documents, data reports, and maps.
  • Ensures that accurate and complete metadata are developed for all data sets.
  • Develops data sharing agreements with outside agencies and consultants while exercising sound judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive materials.
  • Provide technical support for geospatial data and database compliance.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies/services and establish/recommend strategic direction for the GIS applications support road map.
  • Find solutions to complex technology issues, providing direction as required. Stay current on technologies within assigned business area.
  • Provide expertise in best programming practices, methodologies, standards, and suite of tools.
