AD&M is looking for a Senior Level Mold Engineer with considerable background experience in Molding / Plastics Processing, Tooling Design, and Tooling Qualification. This position will be a global role supporting strategic activities in ADM Molding facilities. This person should have considerable knowledge in the areas of Thermoplastic Injection Molding, Thermoset, and Silicone Molding in order to serve as a Global Technical Leader for AD&M operations. This would include the ability to identify improvement opportunities, deployment of new technologies in the areas of tooling, processing, resins, equipment and overall operational efficiency, and representation in the greater TE Molding Center of Excellence.

Short Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and help quote, justify and implement cost savings and quality improvement ideas in tooling, processing, resins, equipment, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Assist with the identification and Implementation of new molding technologies into our global footprint
  • Serve as technical resource for consulting on complex internal / external mold processing, tooling, resin, quality and capacity concerns.
  • Support and coordinate TE Best and Molding COE activities as well as recommending and implementing best practices across all the facilities
  • Use data driven analytical problem-solving techniques such Six Sigma, RedX, 8D, etc. to determine root cause of molding problems with recommended solutions. Use process capability tools to determine processes are in control.
  • Support the deployment of TEOA/Lean in ADM Molding Operations
  • Drive for Margin Expansion through deployment of projects target conversion and material costs.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Procurement team on sourcing of molded components and support external supply base as necessary.
  • Support product cost analysis, for reductions and comparative analysis for sourcing decisions.
  • Initiate and review both product and mold design considerations including leading new tool builds for existing tooling, modifications and repairs.

  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent with specialized experience in molding processes. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working within Molding Operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of mold processing and tooling designs for thermoplastics, thermosets and silicones are required. Knowledge and experience in processing Engineered Resins are a plus.
  • Ability to utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) and moldflow software in order to support mold/tooling design reviews.
  • Experience working in a low volume, high mix environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Molding of Military / Aerospace product is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • This individual needs to be a self-starter, require minimum supervision, have excellent time management skills, and the ability to work well under pressure while balancing multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Certification in Six Sigma or RedX preferred.
  • PC proficient, including Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, Power Point, MS Teams
  • Ability to travel globally as required.
