The Hazardous Waste Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of 5-10 employees that collects and categorizes both hazardous and regulated medical waste for a scientific testing services company.  The Team Leader will make work schedules for employees, coach, train, and mentor employees, and ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable environmental regulations (including filing compliance reports when necessary).  The Team Leader will be responsible for arranging waste pickups with external waste transportation companies, assessing levels of waste production, and leading efforts to reduce the production of hazardous and regulated medical waste. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to independently and collaboratively perform the following requirements:Package chemicals for shipment or disposalMaintain clean and orderly chemical storage areasShip hazardous waste from the laboratory prior to RCRA time limitsTrack the volume of waste generated for reporting to corporate and the EPACoordinate workflow and monitor employee activities dailyInterview, train, and regularly evaluate employee performanceConfront and address problems, concerns, and performance issuesCoach and develop individuals and the team to maximize performance
