POSITION SUMMARY:

The Innovation Lab Concept Body Build Technician supports the fabrication/building/up-fitting of concept/show truck bodies in the newly established Morgan Innovation Lab.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Fa bricates parts, builds concept/prototype bodies and up-fits bodies with innovative accessories
  • Building of concept/show truck bodies in the plant using application of knowledge on welding, machining, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Member of a cooperative team defining the bodies and technologies of the future
  • Self-motivated/ambitious with a sense of urgency
  • Supports special projects and other duties as assigned

    • EXPERTISE REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 3-5 years of experience in truck body manufacturing preferred
    • Knowledge and application of fundamental body building tools/equipment
    • Knowledge and application of fabrication skills (cutting, bending, joining, fastening)
    • Proficiency using hand tools (drills, grinders) and measuring devices (tape measure, calipers)
    • Creativity thinker desire to determine how/figure-it-out
    • Passion to work with hands and work in a collaborative team environment
    • Welding and Machining knowledge is a plus
    • Electrical knowledge is a plus

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Working in a temperature conditioned shop floor environment a minimum of eight hours per day is required. At times, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand (sometimes for extended periods); walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
