THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Insurance Department is seeking a dynamic leader with a proven track record in the insurance industry. This position serves as the Chief of the Insurance Company Licensing Division in the Office of Corporate and Financial Regulation. In this role, you will oversee the licensure of insurance companies and insurance-related regulated entities doing business within Pennsylvania. Join us in our mission to protect Pennsylvania's insurance consumers through fair and effective regulation of the marketplace.DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Insurance Company Licensing Chief, you will supervise and manage the work of subordinate staff in the review, evaluation, analysis, and recommendation for licensure for all types of insurance licensure applications of Pennsylvania insurers and insurance-related regulated entities. Work entails review, development, and implementation of a structured review process to establish standard protocols for licensure applications to assure compliance and prudent safeguards are in place. You will have the opportunity to perform the full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities, including making recommendations for hiring, assigning, and reviewing the work of subordinate staff, conducting performance management, and handling disciplinary issues as necessary.

Full-time employment.

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as an Insurance Licensing Specialist; or

Two years of experience as an Insurance Company Financial Analyst 2; or

Two years of experience in the external audit or examination of the financial conditions and operations of insurance companies; and a bachelor's degree. Related experience may be substituted for training on a year-for-year basis.Other Requirements:
