Job Description

We are looking for a smart, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious person to join our global Marketing and Communications team. To succeed here, you'll need to be a creative self-starter who is willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. To do great work you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across global marketing communications and beyond. You will report to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer.

We are looking for an Internal Communications Assistant Manager to develop and implement internal communications and employee engagement strategies. This role will work cross-functionally and with the Executive Leadership Team on supporting key initiatives that drive change and stakeholder engagement. Importantly, the successful candidate will partner directly with our Chief Human Resources Officer and the HR Leadership Team on all internal and external communications matters connected to the employee value proposition, employee care, employee and labor relations, and employee marketing and branding.

Job Responsibilities

  • Enable employees to operate at their best by delivering timely and relevant information, especially during times of change.
  • Develop and execute internal communications campaigns that align with Harsco’s business and culture priorities.
  • Transform complex concepts into terms everyone can understand.
  • Build successful relationships across the organization to affect change, identify communications gaps and opportunities.
  • Support the rollout and adoption of new collaboration and communication tools.
  • Manage our internal and external websites.
  • Proactively source compelling employee stories and create engaging content to be used across multiple platforms.
  • Manage communications calendars.
  • Look for ways to continuously improve internal communications methods and channels to maximize employee engagement.
  • Champion collaboration through transparency and accountability.
  • Help support and grow an innovative and creative working environment.
  • Work closely with our Vice President of Sustainability on our annual Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Report, specifically on content, video production and internal/external amplification.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 5+ years of internal communications and change management experience, including proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Strategic and creative problem solver who generates ideas and plans, and effectively executes them.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate information to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and synthesize complex issuesin fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Action-oriented and results-driven.
  • Experience working closely with HR on the employee value proposition and/or employee care.
  • Passionate, positive, self-starter who enjoys working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Strong work ethic – must be creative, self-motivated and able to take the initiative when juggling a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Substantial project management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, set expectations and change direction quickly according to fast-evolving business needs.
