IT Project Manager-Finance Systems-Contract

We are working with a client who is need of an IT Project Manager for 2-3 simultaneous cross-functional finance projects for a major distribution company. This role will report to the Senior Manager- Project Delivery and work closely with the VP of Enterprise Applications and IT Service Managers on strategic projects. The IT Project Manager – Finance Systems will be critical to the success of transformative projects and initiatives at the client, playing a key role as the company continues its aggressive growth.Project Length: 12 Months plusLocation: Remote; IT is located near Atlantic City, NJ.Responsibilities: Oversees projects with the goal of achieving project success in the areas of Scope, Schedule, Budget and realized Benefits.Identifies project options, develops business cases, and secures required approvals.Leads requirements gathering and planning process, working closely with key stakeholders.Defines the appropriate project scope, aligned to corporate strategies.Identifies and manages critical paths, being mindful of upstream and downstream dependencies.Ensures coordination with other key initiatives, and addresses and resolves project conflicts.Develops project plans, key milestone schedules, and cost/benefit analysis.Manages project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and tracks actuals.Reviews actuals versus planned budget throughout project lifecycle to identify variances and recommends corrective action.Tracks and manages the project schedule and its dependencies.Facilitates PMO level reviews of the project status and health. Ensure all PMO requirements are met including following the Phase/Gate process and will be responsible for presenting all project artifacts during gate reviews.Ensures issues and risks are managed, mitigated, and communicated to senior leadership.Applies change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required for our change initiatives.Understands and manages the scope of small and medium sized projects, considering business requirements, budget, resources, and capabilities.Works with IT and Business partners to identify and schedule all the work for end-to-end deployment required to fulfill the project requirements.Ensures project milestones are accomplished and overall committed timelines are met.Communicates updates on major milestones and keeps all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.Identifies and manages proposed changes to projects, working with business stakeholders and project managers to ensure appropriate processes and communications are followed.
