Job Description

The IT Senior Business Analyst performs requirements definition and functional analysis for the end user community, as the key subject matter expert in the assigned area. Manages/leads medium sized projects working closely with IT team members to deliver. Works under the general direction of the IT Director of Applications and has specific application areas assigned.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Perform functional analysis, gap identification, and requirements definition for changes requested.
  • Provide functional/application expertise within the assigned function including conducting in depth quality reviews on design and testing.
  • Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results.
  • Serve as a liaise between the business and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement, and implementations.
  • Coordinate cross functionally within IT and/or business functions to deliver projects.
  • Lead and execute projects and initiatives in full compliance with defined processes and controls.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex business problems and recommend solutions.
  • Keep abreast of latest tools, applications, and techniques in the assigned area.
  • Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology
  • Up to 20% travel by car or airplane to visit business units
  • Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with applications related to transportation and logistics for servicing customers in the field is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and data analysis
  • Knowledge of Logistical tools such as Descartes
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • HAZ Waste industry experience
