Title: IT System Administrator (security focused)

Duration: FTE/Permanent opportunity

Location: 3 days onsite in Philadelphia, PA – 2 days remote (must be local)Vaccination required

System Administration
  • Assist with managing Windows workstation and server patching.
  • Backup and Disaster recovery documentation, planning, and testing.
  • Microsoft Windows Domain model Support (AD, DNS, Group Policy).
  • Manage/Maintain Office365, Terminal Services, SQL, TCP/IP, Load Balancers, DHCP, PKI, PowerShell, SharePoint, VMWare vCenter, ESXI, Veeam, Azure and Intune.

Security Administration
  • Ensure all Windows critical infrastructure systems and services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, DNS and DHCP are secure, and vulnerabilities are remediated.
  • Ensure application security and integrity of all Microsoft-related application technologies including Windows servers, Office 365, MS Azure, SQL Server, and SharePoint.
  • Perform activities in support of Cybersecurity projects and task/initiatives associated with audit recommendations.
  • Ensure that the VMWare ESX Virtual environment security patches and updates are applied in a timely manner to ensure the integrity of those systems.
  • Ensure the latest security patches are applied to all servers monthly. This includes Windows infrastructure related servers, and servers configured to run diverse Windows roles/features and specialized applications, and workstations.
  • We have been migrating their IT processes to the Azure Cloud. The long-term goal is to migrate most of the environment from on-premises systems to Azure.
  • Utilize available and new technologies to manage password, account, and system policies. Configure, test, and validate security and operational functionality and impact. Document and provide knowledge transfer to co-workers and other IT teams.
  • Manage risk assessments using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or other selected framework(s).
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 environment security best practices.
  • Provide insight, guidance and maintain cybersecurity policy documents.

What you need to succeed in the role:
  • Two to five years of Systems Support and/or Help Desk Support.
  • Ability to create and maintain cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and emergency response documentation.
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively with users, colleagues, and management to troubleshoot complex issues, and write clear documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security practices and procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and understand additional technologies and third-party applications.
  • Adept at conducting research into infrastructure-related issues and products.
  • Strong working knowledge of recent IT trends such as Managed Services, Cloud Computing, and Infrastructure Virtualization.
  • An ability to research and provide recommendations on solutions related to both security and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • An ability to effectively work remotely utilizing an uninterrupted internet connection, as required.
  • An ability, interest and desire to stay current via seminars, industry literature, and formal training and development.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business analysis, business administration, information system or related degree, preferred.
  • MCSE Certification, technical work experience with exposure to diverse server configurations, preferred.
  • CCSP certification or equivalent, preferred.
