Senior Java/Micro Services Developer

Location: 100% remote or a hybrid of onsite/offsite in Malvern, PADuration: 6 Months with a strong possibility of an extension. We are seeking a

Java/Micro Services Developer who is looking for new challenges and opportunities to work with the latest application and data integration technologies. This position reports to the Director/Development Manager of the Application Integration Team. The developer will be required to work in a team environment and will be responsible for full life cycle software development including new development, design/architecture, and implementation of application integration solutions using Java, Spring, and related open source technologies (e.g. Artifactory, Jenkins, Git, etc). Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop applications, data integrations and technology solutions
  • Drive project and technology goals in line with organizational objectives
  • Create Design and Technical Specs from Business Specs
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Developers and Sr. Developers
  • Lead and participate in code reviews
  • Collaborate with fellow Developers and Architects
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Quality Analysts and others during the delivery of the project
  • Be responsible for successful project delivery and customer satisfaction

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in the following:

    • Java-J2EE development

    • Development of application integration solutions (EAI, B2B, ESB)

  • Strong Java skills coupled with current experience in micro services architecture, web services, service oriented architecture, and related technologies

  • Strong understanding of data structures and business objects
  • Application development experience in Git, BitBucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, Spring, Spring boot, SonarQube, Docker, ELK (Elastic Search, Log stash, Kibana) strongly preferred
  • Proficiencies in RedHat Fuse ESB, Apache Camel, Apache ActiveMQ, Kafka, web services, application server technology (Karaf, JBoss, Tomcat)
  • Experience in Data Mapping, XML/JSON, and web service
  • Experience in Linux and Unix
  • Experience in integrating with Oracle and SQL Server databases using JDBC
  • Solid understanding of SQL and good grasp of relational and analytical database management theory and practice
  • Extremely strong communication skills
  • Agile/Scrum experience

Desired Skills and Expertise:
  • Proficiencies in HL7, EDI libraries as well as JSON and XML messaging
  • Experience in Data Virtualization technologies, especially Denodo ,
