For information on our international network visit www.colas.com.Job SummaryThis position provides safe and efficient traffic control and laboring at road construction worksites. Preforms manual tasks required to complete the project in observance of the safety guidelines. This is a union position.Main ResponsibilitiesPerform all work in a safe manner, maintaining an excellent safety environment

Participate in daily safety huddles

Set-up and take down temporary work zones efficiently

Optimal traffic control in and around work zones (flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers

Assist in backing and dumping of tri-axles and milling machines

Shovel asphalt and aggregate materials

Luting / raking asphalt and aggregates

Handling of hot liquid asphalt and various materials

Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or cut-off saw

Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones

Seal end joints

Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed

Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory platesEducationExperience preferred but on the job training available.SkillsPerform tasks efficiently

Build professional relationships that develop excellent teamwork

Must be safety consciousPhysical RequirementsAble to work long shifts - up to 7 days a week when necessary

Must be willing to work night shifts when applicable

Must be capable of long periods of standing / walking / moving without sitting

Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Must preform tasks while working in various seasonal climates
