Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Hanover Cardiology OP

DescriptionUPMC HMC Cardiology is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. This is a large, busy practice that includes 12 providers, 6 advanced practice providers, who all serve 7 different locations and 2 hospitals. This LPN position is at the Hanover location.Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, NO WEEKENDS! NO HOLIDAYS!The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.Responsibilities:Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs and weight.

Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Perform EKG's, apply CO patches and holter monitors

Schedule tests and procedures

Phone triage with patients

Obtain medication refills

Draw blood.

At times may need to help check in patients or do chart prep

Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

Comply with all policies and procedures.

Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

QualificationsGraduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.

One year clinical experience helpful

Recent graduates welcome to apply, willing to train

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireClearances must be dated within 90 daysAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
