Our Preferred Client is looking for a Linux Cloud Engineer with a strong background in cloud hosting and scripting/automation. Ideally, you have mastered a few technologies but have exposure to a much larger number and are comfortable trying different things out. This position requires candidates be residents of the Pittsburgh area.Responsibilities

  • Configuring, maintaining, securing CentOS, Amazon Linux, and Ubuntu servers hosted in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
  • Experience building distributed, failure-resistant architecture, including disaster recovery, backups, failover, etc.
  • Leverage shell scripting and open-source tools to automate redundant/simple tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for systems and procedures.
  • Analyzes, logs, tracks, and resolves incidents about networking connectivity issues, servers, and applications.
  • Provide 24x7x365 on-call coverage in a rotating schedule.
  • Collaborate with members of the team on projects and software deployments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 2 year’s experience with various DevOps open-source tools such as Ansible, Terraform Git, Zabbix, Netdata, and Jenkins.
  • Ability to create and support Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments (VPC, EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Cloud Formation, etc.).
  • Experience with containers: Docker and

    Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding and implementation of software and process protection methods to guard against security breaches and intrusion.
  • Experience with monitoring tools: Kibana, Grafana, Zabbix, Vivid Cortex, Netdata, and CloudWatch.
  • Assist in the administration of databases including Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres.
  • Motivated, responsible, focused, analytical, self-starter, team player, able to communicate clearly and effectively with others on-site and at other remote locations.
