Our client is looking for a Mainframe Communications Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and administer mainframe communications software such as TCP/TP and FTP.This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities of the Mainframe Communications Engineer: - Install, update, and administer mainframe communications software
- Perform changes within company regulations and security standards
- Help test, implement, and install new/improved systems
- Support product upgrades and network connections
Requirements of the Mainframe Communications Specialist: - Bachelor's degree/certification in Computer Science or technical equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant, hands-on experience
- JCL, ISPF, and SMP/E experience
- IBM Mainframe Practitioner certification
