DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks, including operating wood shop equipment in the production of picnic tables, signs, and kiosks and sorting and stacking lumber and parts. This involves utilizing tools such as planers, bandsaws, jointers, routers, shapers, drill presses, radial arm saws, table saws, and various hand-held power tools. You will also be tasked with maintaining the equipment as necessary while safely performing activities like sanding, cutting, staining, painting, and machining wood materials for the shop's products. Furthermore, you will perform table shop responsibilities, which include handling lumber for picnic table assembly, operating shop equipment, gang saws, cut-off saws, spindle borers, straight line rip saws, and planers, while ensuring a tidy work environment.Additionally, you will assist with nursery tasks, such as lifting and packing bareroot seedlings, and collecting seed and maintaining trees and fencing in seed orchards across the state. You will have the opportunity to support wildfire fighting efforts as a member of the Bureau of Forestry's wildfire suppression team when required.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
